Women and veteran-owned farm raising grass fed heritage animals using regenerative organic farming practices.
Welcome!
Welcome to Rainbow Moraine Farm! We are a small, LGBTQ and veteran owned family farm in Southeastern Wisconsin. We’re just getting started here, so please join us as we fulfill our dream to farm sustainably, raise heritage animals, garden organically, and all around become more self-sufficient. We hope to help heal the 4 acres of land that we purchased in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin through rotational grazing of our registered 1927® fine fleece Shetland Sheep and registered KuneKune pigs. We also raise chickens and will be adding heritage turkeys.
Why did we name our farm Rainbow Moraine? And what the heck is a moraine anyways? Click here to find out!
Registered KuneKune pigs
KuneKune pigs are a heritage breed that get most of their diet from grass or hay. We use rotational grazing practices to offer our pigs the best forage available. KuneKune pigs are known for their gentle, affectionate nature and make great companion animals. Because of their small size and lack of rooting behavior, they are very easy to keep. They love scritches and pets and will flop over for you to rub their bellies.
1927 ®️ Fine Fleece Shetland sheep
Shetland sheep are a heritage breed dating back over a thousand years and are famous for their extra fine, soft, naturally colored wool that is very lightweight and warm. They come in a variety of colors and patterns. They are a small breed and very easy to handle. They are great foragers and require little in the way of human intervention, but most are quite friendly once they get to know you. Shetland sheep are great mothers and often have twins or even triplets.
